Limited Edition Cans for Vancouver Humane Society Lager

Updated: Nov 29, 2020

It's no secret that we're animal lovers here at Howe Sound Brewing Company. So earlier when Vancouver Humane Society asked us to be involved with their Online Silent Auction we were happy to be involved! This led to our limited release Vancouver Humane Society Lager!

Vancouver Humane Society, like many not-for-profit organizations, rely on a calendar of events to raise funds for their crucial campaigns that help the welfare of animals and animal lovers. Of course, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, events are not an option this year but the need for financial support is more important than ever. Luckily, VHS has taken it in their stride and made incredible efforts to continue their fundraising efforts.

One of VHS's main Campaigns is the McVitie veterinary assistance program, which aims to assist low-income individuals with essential health care issues.

'The Vancouver Humane Society assists low-income pet owners with veterinary expenses through our McVitie Fund, which was named after a little ginger cat called McVitie, meow-ny years ago. We help pets that are suffering from debilitating injuries and illnesses. The program significantly benefits individuals who are elderly and disabled, whose lives are much improved by sharing it with a four-legged friend. Your support will enable us to help over 100 animals per year.'

To contribute to the McVitie Foundation, and help raise awareness we have released a limited edition label for our Howe Sound Lager.

50c from each six-pack is donated to the McVitie Fund. To make a donation to VHS visit: vancouverhumanesociety.bc.ca/donate

For this label, animals from the VHS logo replace our trademark ship, HS Lager. The back features the above description and details about where you can make a donation. Our goal for this limited release is to raise awareness about the campaign and encourage people to make a contribution to the McVitie fund.

The artwork was completed by our friends at Dreamstate Design

Vancouver Humane Society Lager will be available at private liquor stores. We will update this post with a list of stores, check back again soon!
