Squamish BC is a legendary destination for rock-climbers. The town is dominated by the Stawamus Chief, a 1200' granite monolith. Ever since Jim Baldwin and Ed Cooper found the first route up the Grand Wall in 1961, climbers have been flocking here to rise to the challenge.
If the Chief sounds out of your league, there are also numerous single and multi-pitch routes throughout the area.
If you'd rather keep your feet on the ground, the view from patio at the Howe Sound Brewpub offers an excellent vantage point for watching the climbers on the Chief.
If you do decide to rise to the challenge, local guides are your surest bet for finding the best climbs.
